YOUR HELP
 We invite you to be one of our priviledged friends who own the Fish Florida license plate. Each time you see your plate, you will know you are helping kids learn to cast, students explore marine research, and Florida communities offer fishing experiences.
OUR FUNDING
Fish Florida's funding comes from the Fish Florida specialty license plate, featuring Florida's saltwater fish - the sailfish. Anglers, boaters, and other concerned individuals purchase the Fish Florida plate, demonstrating their dedication to the future of their sport.
Since its founding in 1998, Fish Florida has helped over 50,000 children participate in fishing clinics throughout Florida. You can help, too! For every license plate sold, Fish Florida receives $22.00. These funds are used for fishing equipment and grants for Florida fishing education programs and for scholarships to marine and aquatic science students.
You can be confident that your money is going to our programs. Fish Florida spends at least 75% of its license plate revenue on our programs, with a maximum of 25% for administration and markeing. It is the proceeds from the license plate that enable us to give fishing equipment, grants, and scholarships.
Since the plate went on sale in March 2004, Fish Florida has:
- donated more than 31,000 rods, reels, and tackle kits to 135 kids' fishing clinics run by 78 organization in 64 Florida communities
- awarded more than $176,000.00 in grants among 20 Florida organizations that began or enhanced a fishing education program
- given $15,000.00 in scholarships to marine and freshwater science students
